Impossible to get % ‘Critical Success” on Units

This was brought up under another thread but I would like clarification that it is or is not a bug.

None of the % bonus prefixes and suffixes are available for crafting units. You can not make an “Elite Reaving ship of the Krakens” for instance. None of the following ever show up on Units that are produced:
of Anger +1 Battle, 2% to Fight
of Weeping +1 Battle, 2% to Harass
of Hospitality +1 Battle, 2% to Aid
of Negotiation +1 Trade, 2% to Barter
of Greed: +1 Trade, 2% to Swindle
of Wealth: +1 Trade, +2% to Bribe
of Knowledge: +1 Intrigue, +2% to Spy
of Wile: +1 Intrigue, +2% to Sabotage
of Shadows: +1 Intrigue, 2% to Steal
of the Stag: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Fight
of Krakens: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Harass
of Wolves: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Aid
of Flower: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Barter
of Lions: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Swindle
of Fish: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Bribe
of Dragons: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% to Spy
of the Sun: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, 10% to Sabotage
of Falcons: +5 Battle, +5 Trade, +5 Intrigue, +10% steal actions

Looking at this sheet I posted here it has to be a design decision and not a bug:

What is a bug however is the lack of a +5 battle prefix for crafting Weapons and Armour. Logically one of Dangerous or Polished should have been the +5 rather than both as +12.

It could very well be by design but that’s why I posted it here for confirmation. Also, I’m sure “What enhancement can go to what item” will have to be addressed before they roll out custom item enhancement.

Is that list something officially released, something from the game files, or something you have tested.  Unless it has been officially released it is completely plausible that it’s not a design decision.  If it is a design decision, it is a rather poor one.  I think the fealty bonuses should be allowed to apply to all items.  But that’s just me.

Also, from the context of the other enhancements, I think it is polished that should be a +5.  It fits better with expensive and majestic, while dangerous fits better with exotic and traditional.

I always thought that the fact that units don’t get % bonuses was intentionally designed so. I have made quite literally hundreds, if not thousands of units by now and have not seen a % bonus on any of them.

However, I have started wondering why none of the items producible in the watchtower have any % stats. Purely coincident or are the items bugged there raspberry

Yup, I know there is inconsistent terminology in the game:
Weapon - hand
Armour - body
Companion - unit

Should have used H/B/U or W/A/C.

Ok.  Then I really hope it’s a bug instead of a design flaw.  Its good that some are for units only, but I really hope they open of the “of the fealty” bonuses for companions.  A Polished knight might not make any sense, but a Knight of Dragons not only makes sense; it is freaking awesome.

The items may be bugged, but if intentional, it brings about another bug.  Because they have no substat, none of the intrigue building bonuses work for them (cost reduction, time reduction, improved chance).  So unless you have the Shipyard gold upgrade for improved unit production, it will not roll for an improved chance even if you put a gem in.  Even with the shipyard upgrade and the red gem, its a small chance anyway.  I think it may be a design flaw (no %s are intentional) mixed with a bug (no % in improved chance may prevent an improved chance roll even with a red gem).

Was just hoping for some word from DB if that was intentional or not. I have put crafting Elite items on hold while I await word.
