Disruptor Beam at PAX East 2014!
Hello everyone! Disruptor Beam has big plans for PAX East 2014! As you may know, Disruptor Beam is based in the Boston area, so having one of the largest gaming conventions on the planet in our backyard is something we look forward to all year.
The Big Announcement
We can’t tell you what it is - yet. We can’t tell you what it’s about - yet. We can say it will be a huge announcement for Disruptor Beam that we cannot wait to talk about! Watch for more information in the days leading up to PAX.
Disruptor Beam will have a 20’ x 20’ booth on the main expo floor. Our booth this year is right off one of the main hallways at the north end. This booth will be filled with Disruptor Beam Team members for all three days, as well as some special events:
- Get your photo professionally taken against the Iron Throne! A special 10’ x 8’ backdrop was commissioned and painted by one of our artists. Dress up as Khaleesi and cradle Dragon Eggs for all of your friends to see!
- The first-ever public showing of Game of Thrones Ascent on Android! Join us at the booth and be one of the first ever fans to play Game of Thrones Ascent on Android.
- Game of Thrones Ascent on iPad! Come experience the brand-new iPad version of Game of Thrones Ascent.
We’re planning a Meet and Greet party for Saturday night, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. We’re still finalizing the venue, but it will be within walking distance of the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. Come meet the team and fellow GoTA players, and buy each other drinks! Some amount of food and drinks will be provided, though the bar will be a cash bar.

In 2004, the folks at Penny Arcade decided they wanted a show exclusively for gaming. Sure, comics, anime, and other nerd hobbies were cool, and those activities all had their own shows… so what about games? From that idea spawned a small 4,500 person event in Bellevue, Washington, focused on the culture and community that is gaming.
Since then, the show hasn’t looked back. Doubling in size each year until venue capacities were reached, in 2010 the show expanded into Boston for PAX East, drawing tens of thousands of attendees in the inaugural year. The shows in Seattle and Boston represent the two largest gaming events in North America!
