Story-Driven Multiplayer Strategy Game Based on
The Walking Dead Comics to Connect Fans in 3D World
October 6, 2016 (Framingham, MA) — Disruptor Beam, a gaming company focused on bringing the world’s greatest entertainment franchises to mobile, announced today its plans to release a new story-driven multiplayer strategy game based on The Walking Dead. Under license from Skybound Entertainment and based on Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic book series, The Walking Dead: March to War will launch on the App Store and Google Play next year. Fans can register as a Survivor by visiting www.MarchtoWar.com to receive pre-launch news about the game and an exclusive in-game Captured Walker at launch. Fans can also follow the game on Facebook and Twitter.
“The Walking Dead is an iconic franchise and one with millions of fans around the world,” said Jon Radoff, Founder & CEO of Disruptor Beam. “We’ve had success bringing both Star Trek and Game of Thrones to mobile, allowing fans of these franchises to tell their own stories through gameplay and the connections they make with other players. We very much look forward to continuing our work with Skybound Entertainment to create a similarly authentic and graphically impressive 3D game that truly brings to life the world fans love in The Walking Dead: March to War.”
The Walking Dead: March to War is a story-driven multiplayer strategy game. Players must fight alongside and against others for control of scarce resources in and around a devastated Washington D.C., while fending off walkers and attempting to rebuild society. As the leader of a group of survivors, each player will assemble a team including a council of well-known characters from The Walking Dead such as Rick, Michonne, and Negan. Faced with an ongoing series of moral choices, players will defend their camp against hoards of walkers and, the bigger threat, other survivors. Inspired by the stark look of The Walking Dead comics, March to War will feature rich 3D graphics unlike anything seen in other The Walking Dead or strategy mobile games.
“Disruptor Beam’s ability to marry innovative gameplay mechanics with deep storytelling elements based on popular franchises like The Walking Dead is one of the many reasons we’re excited to be working together,” said Dan Murray, President of Skybound Interactive. “March to War will enable fans to experience similar struggles in an attempt to rebuild civilization as the characters they’ve come to know in The Walking Dead comics.”
“March to War is a new kind of Walking Dead mobile game – one featuring immersive 3D graphics and focused on true multiplayer competitive gameplay, where survivors must actively work with and against others to gain control and progress,” said Joey Lapegna, Director of Product & Design at Disruptor Beam. “The alliances players form and the enemies they make will define their story, and dictate whether they will succeed or fail – an experience that we hope will feel very familiar to any Walking Dead fan.”
The Walking Dead: March to War will be free-to-play and released on the App Store and Google Play next year. Fans should register as a Survivor at www.MarchtoWar.com to stay up-to-date on the latest developments as more details are announced. Fans can also follow The Walking Dead: March to War on Facebook and Twitter.
